AIDS Walk Napa next Sat, Halloween, Oct 31, 2009, 10a in Yountville

So after a slew of successful events (and here, here and here) from Napa's Guerrilla Gay Bar and friends, the main event is in a week.

Remember, this funding is desperately needed, as state cuts earlier this year slashed revenue for vital HIV support services in Napa (and statewide).

Next Saturday, October 31, Napa Valley AIDS Walk comes to Halloween (or Halloween comes to us?), and it's not too late to join--even showing up on the day of is not too late!
This year will be a "Spooktacular" AIDS WALK 2009 as Napa's Diverse Walks of Life, Partner for a Cure in Costume¨

The location for the 2009 "Spooktacular" Napa Valley AIDS WALK is in the Heart of the Napa Valley - the Lincoln Theater Courtyard, at The Veteran's Home of Napa Valley, 100 California Drive, Yountville, CA 94599, Saturday October 31st, 2009 at 10 a.m...

...2009 marks the 18th year for this annual event to raise awareness and funding for HIV/AIDS Support Services conducted by the Care Network at the Queen of the Valley Hospital. Treatment includes counseling, case management, emotional support, medical support, in-home case visits and more.

Halloween 2009 AIDS Walk Day activities include refreshments, raffles, team competitions, balloons, and all the fun was set to music with everyones favorite DJ Rotten Robbie! Additionally KVON/KVYN will host a live remote with everyones favorite "Kellie in the Morning" on location and broadcasting live from the walk! This year may even have a horse and buggy for the handicapped via Michael Mier.
How to join or participate? My take on it: Raise as much money as you can by asking friends, strangers, neighbors, coworkers, fellow congregants, etc. to sponsor you in the walk. Bring all their money to the event, fill out the quick forms (either day-of or ahead of time) and you're in!

  1. Don't forget - There will be a Napa Guerilla Gay Bar event at Panchas of Yountville (6764 Washington Street) immediately following the AIDS Walk.
