Poolside Soiree at Bardessono, Yountville, Sun, Sept 13

This must have been inspired by June's Guerrilla Gay Bar and Napa Valley Pride poolside cocktail party!

San Francisco's "Academy of Friends" (the ones who have the gold painted hotties at their Oscar party) is getting together with Bardessono to throw a Poolside Soiree on Sunday, September 13. That's next Sunday--which is just enough time to get a new suit and a spray tan.
Join Academy of Friends poolside and enjoy a selection of wines from Merryvale Vineyards, specialty cocktails by Smirnoff, and savories prepared by Bardessono's chef...

When: Sunday, September 13, 2009 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Where: Bardessono Napa Valley, 6526 Yount Street, Yountville

Get tickets (it's a fundraiser)*, $20, here.
Also, for those coming up from San Francisco:
a Coach America shuttle bus will depart from the Castro Theatre
on Sunday at 12:30 pm. Round-trip tickets are $25 per person and seats are limited. If you wish to take the shuttle, you must make a reservation.
According to their website, the Academy of Friends:
For 29 years...has been on the front lines in the fight against HIV and AIDS. Through our annual Academy Awards Gala and monthly events, we have raised over $7 million to support 61 HIV/AIDS service organizations within the San Francisco Bay Area.
[*Note: while also very worthy, this is separate from the Napa Valley AIDS Walk and Oscar Party which raises funds for the Queen of the Valley's CARE Network]

Looks like it's going to be a big-gay-weekend in the Napa Valley, with Friday (the 11th's) Gay Day at Discovery Kingdom, and Sunday Morning and Evening's Oakland/East Bay Gay Men's Chorus at the United Methodist Church. Guess we should start picking out our outfits now.
