In case you didn't get it, our post earlier about the City canceling our Gay Pride event was an April Fool's. Seems like between comments here and zooming around the net and Facebook, that it was more believable than I thought! (That's sad.)
Heck, people. In the original post I thought I kept it just beyond ridiculous and I even linked to an April Fools page on Wikipedia. This is a good lesson for people to read things fully before reacting! Apologies to anyone who received undue emotional harm from this.
[Update: looks like our fake news spread beyond The Fruit... with emails and calls to the City, the Napa Register and even other websites... ooops.]
Once you stop laughing from the awesomeness of this little hoax, focus your energy into helping us plan a kick-ass Pride for Napa.

I thought it was HILARIOUS!
ReplyDeleteMaybe if you had embedded this video then people would have gotten the joke:

Personally, I think it was hilarious (I mean "a warehouse on Mare Island . . . come on folks!) and scary (that so many people believed it was possible) both at the same time.
It's time for all of us to take a deep breath. Our time will come.
The April Fools' Day joke has people e-mailing us protest letters because some people posted to Craigslist forums telling about the "cancellation," and adding a link to our online letters submission page so they could protest the decision!
ReplyDeleteIrresponsible yet BRILLIANT!!!
