Text of Yountville, CA (and American Canyon) Equality Resolution

As reported yesterday, the American Canyon City Council will take up a vote on an Equality Resolution on Tuesday, May 5, 2009. The text--according to the Napa Register--is identical to the Resolution passed in Yountville, CA on April 7, 2009. Embedded above is Yountville's Resolution.

  1. Thank you. Your efforts are greatly appreciated. I posted the meat of it over on the NVR thread, with this additional commentary:

The reason those opposed to equal rights are having trouble coming up with good reasons to oppose equality is that there are none. Therefore they must rely either on a few bible verses that may have been mistranslated and are overridden by other more important ones such as the admonitions to love your neighbor and treat others the way you would treat yourself, or they rely on fear and negative beliefs that have no scientific justification, or unfounded fears of future hypothetical events.

It is time to put aside the fears and unfounded negative beliefs you learned early in life, and embrace the principals of equality our country was founded upon. Please. The health and safety of our loved ones including our children depend upon it.
