Your weekly queer news update

  • The queer blogosphere is trying to figure out if the AFA is pulling one on us or if their news release, claiming that "their boycott worked" and McDonald's Vice President has resigned his position on the Gay/Lesbian Chamber of Commerce. This was after they had backed their Vice President, saying, "We support our employees' personal involvement in organisations of their choice. We will continue to support our people and their right to live and work in an inclusive society." [JMG]

  • You can buy those delicious Bolthouse juices again... "The 'Don't Buy Bolthouse' campaign ended because the company's chief executive 'has provided us with a compelling perspective which clearly demonstrates the separation between Bolthouse Farms and ... its founder, William Bolthouse,' Californians Against Hate said Wednesday in a written statement. That perspective, the statement continued, "provides us with confidence that Bolthouse Farms is committed to working productively with the [lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender] community. [LATimes]

  • Friends and online are talking about this new ad campaign on the 'net, TV and radio. Hillary Duff, Wanda Sykes are asking us: "When you say, 'that's so gay', do you realize what you say? Knock it off."

Clip of Wanda Sykes anti-"that's so gay" ad embedded on site.
"How would you like it I said 'that's so 16-year-old boy with a cheesy mustache?" Click for more ads and the full Thinkb4YouSpeak campaign.

  • Duh? "A study released Thursday by a non-partisan adoption group says that states need to tap into the gay and lesbian community to reduce the number of children up for adoption." [365Gay]
