Makes me want to buy a Big Mac Super Value Meal

<br>A camcorded video of a McDonald's commercial showing support for last year's SF pride would be here if your blog reader supported embedded videos.

Thank God for people and corporations willing to stand up for equality and acceptance. McDonald's, in the face of calls for a boycott from the "Christian" American Family Association, recently reaffirmed its support for its employees. The AFA tried to clear things up by explaining what their boycott is about:
"It is about McDonald's, as a corporation, refusing to remain neutral in the culture wars. McDonald's has chosen not to remain neutral but to give the full weight of their corporation to promoting the homosexual agenda, including homosexual marriage." (by the way, they also clarified: "It is not about homosexuals eating at McDonald's.")

The AFA describes itself as: "a Christian organisation promoting the biblical ethic of decency in American society with primary emphasis on TV and other media." What happened to the biblical values of including and loving the outcast and marginalized in society?

I'm glad that McDonald's didn't back down (like WalMart, last holiday season), and even reaffirmed why their support was important:

"Our founder Ray Kroc once said, 'None of us is as good as all of us.'" wrote Mc Donald's Global Chief Diversity Officer, Pat Harris. "This is a core value of McDonald's. We treat our employees and our customers with respect and dignity, regardless of their ethnicity, religious beliefs, sexual orientation or other factors. We support our employees' personal involvement in organisations of their choice. We will continue to support our people and their right to live and work in an inclusive society."
