If you're a friend of The Fruit, and looking for something fun to do that also happens to support your fellow gays (oh, and the values of freedom and equality for all Californians), then this might be just for you:
Unity League leaders Scott Buttler and his partner Chris Edwards are throwing a fundraiser celebration to come together, have a great time and raise some money for the No on 8 Campaign to protect the right to marriage for all couples in California. The party will be held on Saturday night, September 27.
Perfect timing, because--did you know--Napa County is one of the lowest contributors towards the No on 8 campaign. And this, even after I've been telling you to get off your asses!
A $20 donation is requested at the door.
I've heard rumors of belly and gogo dancers, great drinks, good people and other entertainment. For more information on the party, or to get on the guest list, please call Scott at 707-738-4040.
Also, if you'd like to put up a sign in your yard to encourage friends, neighbors and passers-by to VOTE NO, you can pick them up at the Democrats of Napa Valley office downtown, 1015 Coombs Plaza, Napa. Know of anything else going on around town to support the No on 8 campaign? Fill us in on the details via the comments or our tipline.

where? I wanna go after my sister's b-day party!
ReplyDeleteOkay... I guess I have to call Scott. Never mind.
ReplyDeleteDid anyone go? How was it? More importantly, how much was raised?
ReplyDeleteI went to the paty, but don't know how much was raised.
ReplyDeleteThanks to everyone that attended over 100 people came and 2040.00 was raised and contributed to the No on 8 Campaign. Not bad for a last minute fundrasier. Fundraising is still going on by the no on 8 committee and Equality California. Feel free to email me cedwards@winetasting.com for more details.
ReplyDeleteAlso if you are not doing anything Saturday October 11th please join us at the Vets Home for the Aids Walk at 9am. www.napavalleyaidswalk.com
