Napa's equality minded businesses live on Equality Coalition site

As promised a little over a week ago, the Napa Valley Equality Coalition site went live quite recently with their list of love and justice minded local businesses in the Napa Valley "supporting equal rights for all in the Napa Valley".

So far, there are 29 businesses listed, with a link for new businesses (and service providers, including churches) to add themselves as supporters.

[Update: for all you English teachers and grammarphiles, fixed a mistake below. It was just to too embarrassing.]

Thoughts? Is this list going too far in rescuing the Napa City government's failure to support equality or is this just what we needed?

  1. Most gay people, our families, and friends realize there are gay people and those who support and care about us in every part of the country, just as we realize there are those who would seek to harm us everywhere, even in San Francisco. We have learned to support those gay friendly businesses, rather than to avoid an entire area, including even Utah. Most all of the Fortune 500 companies (nearly 90 percent) prohibit discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. Having the information so that we can make informed decisions about who to support and who to avoid, is the key. HRC is one of the places where information can be found. Thanks to all involved in this effort.
