The news telegraph machines have been going wild this week, so here's an earlier edition of the weekly LGBT news, fresh off the presses:
- Grindr. Grind who? Yes, an iPhone app has just been released that lets you "get in touch" with other guys in your vicinity using the iPhone's GPS/distance functionality. I love that a commenter calls this kind of app "geoshagging"...
- In spite of amazing work in the Vermont Legislature, Governor Jim "party pooper" Davis has vowed to veto same-sex marriage legislation that could soon be on the way to his desk. There may be enough votes to override his veto.
- I think I'd only be able to picture him as Fire Marshall Bill, but Jim Cary (and Ewan McGregor)'s gay themed film, I Love You, Phillip Morris might be headed direct to video. Some speculate it is because of hot and heavy, "convincingly fantastic" gay sex scene(s). Unfortunately(?) "no pickle is on display".
- Gay journalist George Weber's 16 year-old confessed murderer's myspace and youtube pages have been dug up. It's not pretty.
- I love Joe.My.God's comment to Oprah on this clip about an upcoming show, "Honey, it's just lesbians, not serial killers".
- No same-sex couples (or any unmarried couples) allowed to share beds in UK hotel. Rightly, they're being sued.
- In case you still don't have plans, here's five hotspots for spring break. Yes, that's means it's bikini season!
- NY Chuck Schumer changes his mind and is now all about same-sex marriage equality in NY and repealing DOMA.
