What will CA tell the gays?

So this election--although I'll be glad that it's over--has got me thinking. What will CA be telling us by the results of Proposition 8?

Many of us already feel rejected by our families, neighbors, coworkers and classmates. Many of us often hear preaching from the pulpit against an attraction we have no choice over. Many of us are too afraid to even tell anyone that we're not straight like "everyone else". Many of us are sick of stereotypes and are looking to be part of loving, committed relationships and want to be more out and open with our true selves. Many of us have to hear voices of fear and bigotry in our workplaces, our schools, on TV, and in the newspapers.

The State of California votes today on civil rights that non-gay people often take for granted. Just like in this Harvey Milk video, embedded below, we have an opportunity to bring HOPE to many. The hope of acceptance, the hope of a new day, and a time where being gay is not seen as a threat to children.

I pray that the State of CA votes in favor of love, commitment, respect and equality for all our residents...so that hope may sweep across the land.

Vote NO on Prop 8.
