Why lie? We all know us gays love art, music and wine (that's why the Valley is actually a great place for us). Here's some upcoming events of interest:
La Strada dell’Arte Napa ValleyI also just noticed...in the mailer I got today from Yountville's Lincoln Theater, that (not to be stereotypical, but) the Indigo Girls are playing (with special guest Brandi Carlile) on Tuesday, June 24 at 8p. Tickets are $55-75. www.lincolntheater.com
La Strada dell’Arte Napa Valley — an Italian street painting festival — will be held on May 17-18 at Copia. Artists of all types — young, old, professional, emerging — will create masterpieces on the asphalt with chalk as part of La Strada dell’Arte Napa Valley. This art, entertainment and music, food, wine tasting, retail merchants and a children’s section make this a great family event...
Six Dimensions Sculpture at Museum
Nationally recognized Napa Valley sculptors Arminée Chahbazian, Jack Chandler, Gordon Huether, Randy Hussong, Clifford Rainey and Rachel Riser will be celebrated at the Napa Valley Museum with an exhibition of their works from May 16 through July 6. An opening reception will be held on Friday, May 16, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Napa Valley Museum. Admission is free for members and $5 for nonmembers. The Napa Valley Museum is in Yountville at 55 Presidents Circle adjacent to Domaine Chandon. For information, visit www.napavalleymuseum.org or call 944-0500.
Mondavi Winery Summer Music Festival
Robert Mondavi Winery Summer Music Festival kicks off July 5 with the New Orleans Preservation Hall Jazz Band making its 37th Festival appearance. Tickets are on sale at www.robertmondaviwinery.com or call 888-769-5299. You can also order meals. Check the website for details.
Anyone going or been?
I'm going to try and score some tickets to Dave Koz at Mondavi. I love the idea of sitting outside listening to great jazz with a great bottle of wine on a beautiful summer evening. Plus, he's very handsome and is "family"!
