It's been a busy week, but we still gotta make time to be in touch with the LGBT news of the world and nearby. Here our the top headlines of interest and entertainment:
- Tonight (Sunday) Peter Griffin goes gay on Family guy. You know, cuz he was injected with the "gay gene". And here all this time I thought the gay gene meant Sevens. (And last week, somehow we missed it, but Marge Simpson went lesbian...) Who's next?
- Curious as to what Hillary has been preaching around the world about the US and gay rights? Here, Clinton answers a EU Gay Rights activist at a town hall meeting in the European Parliament. Topics include HIV/AIDS funding, Human Rights response and policy from the United States under Obama's administration.
- This week NPR hosted a report that was decidedly one sided, presenting the unfortunate consequences of Prop 8 and how it is devastating the lives of it's supporters. Yeah, that was her take, that post-Prop 8 those hurt by it are the donors in favor of the ban.
- In a pretty "video wall" format resembling CoolIris, HRC launched a site to combat the radical right's use of "deception and fear" to to defeat LGBT equality. Visit EndTheLies.
- The activist Cleve Jones (contributor to the Milk movie, friend of Harvey Milk and creator of AIDS quilt project) spoke at the Eve of Justice Vigil and gave a powerful speech.
- April 1st, MTV's movie about Real World Star Pedro Zamora will air. "Zamora was a pioneering youth and Latino HIV activist whose personal battle with AIDS riveted the nation after he was selected for the cast of Real World: San Francisco in 1993."
- In what a blogger is calling the first action of its kind, recently Lebanese gays protested recent beatings by local police.
