More fabulous than a sale on Manolo Blahnik, here's this week's queer news update from the stretches of the intertubes:
- Maybe it was because of us? A Michigan TV station canceled (for the third time?) a Christian, paid-for-tv (some called it a hate-filled infomercial) show that was explicitly against the "radical homosexual agenda".
- "One in 10 are gay, which would make you...?" Amusing, Argentine, gay-themed beer advertisement.
- Looks like Hawaii is going to be going for Civil Unions, in a bill that just assed their House and is heading to the HI Senate, the vote was one vote shy of a veto-proof majority.
- Fans (is that what you'd call them?) of Spanish football hurled the term "Maricón" at David Beckham in a tense game played against England. European football leagues are working to combat homophobia, meanwhile Beckham keeps posing in his underwear.
- Suze Orman has a gay marriage Valentine's wish for us LGBT folk, in comments that include that "Prop 8 took away a birthright."
- Take a moment to vote and discover some new blogs via the 2008 Lezzy Awards. Up for the award this year includes Pam Spaulding of "Pam's House Blend".
- Another school, this time in Florida, is being sued for refusing to allow the formation of a Gay-Striaght Alliance. When will they learn?
- Last week, Broadway celebrated their raucus "Broadway Backwards 4", their "annual, all-star fundraiser for NYC's LGBT Center". Photos, pics and recaps here.
