While repetitions of carols danced in my head...

Ashley Tisdale's version of "Last Christmas" embedded on site, click through to enjoy. C'mon, do it!
Agggh! All morning,
"Last Christmas, I gave you my heart
and the very next day, you took it away..."
has been going through my head! (By the way, the WHAM! version, not Ashley Tisdale.)

What holiday songs do you hate--or masochistically enjoy--getting stuck in your head?

  1. I live in the moment...

Rather that "Last Christmas" I've been humming/singing "This Christmas"

I think Donny Hathaway did it first. I bought the Elliott Yamin version yesterday. iTunes also has it by Diana Ross, Dru Hill, Chris Brown, Harry Connick, Jr. Gloria Estafan, Christina Aguilera, Chicago, Patti Austin, Patti LaBelle, Destiny's Child, Ruben Studdard, Jeffrey Osborne, Spyro Gyra, Reba McIntire, SWV, All-4-One, The Temptations, Macy Gray, Stephanie Mills, Ying Yang Twins and Vonda Shepard.

Checking my iTunes library I only have it by Chris Brown, Elliott Yamin, Christina Aguilera and Jon Secada. I may need to buy 4 or 5 more!

  2. Oh, BTW - a friend of mine once taught me this:

If you have a tune stuck in your head try singing the lyrics of any other song to the tune of the National Anthem. Works for me!

  3. OMG! I just heard the soundtrack from Stephen Colbert's Christmas special. It has some amazing stuff:

    - Elvis Costello, Feist, John Legend, Stephen Colbert, Toby Keith & Willie Nelson singing "What's so Funny 'Bout Peace, Love & Understanding"
    - Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart with "Can I Interest You In Hannukah?"
    - The dirtiest Christmas song I've ever heard - "Nutmeg" sung by John Legend and Stephen Colbert
    - "Little Dealer Boy" by Willie Nelson & Stephen Colbert with the lyric "Behold a plant that smokes more sweetly / Than either frankincense or myrrh"

I immediately went out and bought the album on iTunes (not available as MP3 on Amazon). Another option - Napan DJ Rotten Robbie created a Holiday Mix with many of the songs - you can download it for free at:

(the download includes 2 mixes - the Colbert stuff is on the second one.)

    Destined to be a classic!
