LIGHT UP THE NIGHT FOR EQUALITY!

Saturday, December 20, 2008 – 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Bel-Aire Plaza – Napa, California
(Highway 29 at Trancas Street)

What is Light Up The Night?

On December 20th, we ask that you join us again for a nationwide demonstration that will make an impact on the private sector. Candlelight vigils will be held at commercial centers in cities across the country in vigil for the rights of 18,000 same-sex couples who married and look forward to the day when those rights are available again - for EVERYONE.

What will we be doing?
  • This will be a peaceful candlelight vigil
  • We will gather beginning at 5:00 pm in the parking lot between the Target store and Trancas Street
  • We will slowly walk throughout the shopping area. Singing and/or silence is encouraged...chanting is not....we’ll keep it peaceful and in the holiday spirit.
  • We will stay silent unless asked a question, we will not yell, instigate, or bear signs.
What should I bring?
  • Bring a candle and your own appropriate t-shirt stating “2nd Class Citizen”, “Mom of 2nd Class Citizen”, etc. We will let our shirts do the talking and our candles pay our respects. No signs please. (We’ll have some t-shirts available for people to make their own – please arrive by 5:00 pm if you need to make a t-shirt)
  • We will also be collecting donations for the National Food Drive for Equality. Please bring non-perishable food or cash donations to the event. We’ll be donating the items to the Napa County Food Bank.
