Nothing unexpected, but not good news. The CA constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage--all 14 simple words of it--has qualified for the November ballot. More than two-times the required signatures were submitted (makes you think twice about what you're signing outside of target next time, eh?). The California Marriage Protection Act would amend the California Constitution to read:
"Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California."It seems harmless or commonsense (or could, to some people...?), which is why I'm suggesting that we get our ovens on and bake the most delicious treats we can and take them to our neighbors and relatives to introduce ourselves as real people (instead of those scary stereotypes that they're all thinking of when they'll be voting).
Thank God, according to the latest polls, there is a slim-margin of majority support in favor of same-sex marriage. But, it will take all of our friends and families and supporters voting against the amendment to bring a solid defeat.
Meanwhile, cheers broke out for McCain at a campaign stop in Tennessee when he proclaimed in his belief in "in the sanctity and unique status of marriage between man and woman."
Better get baking!
MMMMM I'm real but I'm not baking anything for no one to accept who i aM or the way I like to live. I don't cause any harm to anyone so they simply don't have the right to bother me or all my queer fellas. what's so wrong with these people??? why do we have to ask or fight for our human rights they don't work for us they don't pay our rents they don't feed up they don't help us when we need anything so what makes people believe that they can decide our present and future??? Ohhh God
ReplyDeleteWell, anyway I'll bake something lol just in case
