- New York's Governor Patterson introduces a bill for marriage equality in that state (via the legislature). Support looks good, but not guaranteed.
- Washington State has passed a bill that gives same-sex couples "everything but marriage": all the rights, privileges, joys and pains--just not the word "marriage".
